The Eyes of Tammy Faye
In the struggle between God and Mammon, it's a knockout win for greed in Showalter's brilliantly over-the-top film adaptation regarding the shamed TV preacher and her felon spouse. Garfield acts as the corrupt Bakker, who states early on, claiming divine approval for wealth. He and Tammy Faye commence capitalizing on the people's Christian beliefs. It's an extravaganza of poor styling, excessive cosmetics and hypocrisy, however Jessica Chastain succeeds to show Tammy Faye with compassion. Tuesday 14 October, early morning, Film4
